I don't think I am going to remember even half the things that have happened since the last update, so I will remember what I can and just start afresh again tomorrow!
Julian returned home last Sunday. I was at the airport on time at 9am (which is a miracle as I am late for everything) but they did not come through till 11.30 due to not having a terminal thing to bring the plane into (I cant think what them things are called that the planes pull into where you get off so I will just call it a terminal thing!), so they had to take them to another terminal and then get a bus back over to terminal 5! by which time I had 4 coffees and was pretty much bouncing off the walls with a caffeine overdose!
Monday - can't remember what happened Monday!
Tuesday was manic, we had Rob from Bell Equine down to take Bessie & Vita's wolf teeth out and Eddie our Farrier down to shoe all the horses, this all started at 9am so the barn was pretty hectic! we then took the lorry down for it's plating at Gillingham test centre which had to be one of the most funniest things ever! We started off with a very square VOSA inspector who tried to be very straight and professional but after about 10 minutes of us two he could not contain himself any longer and every time he looked at us he just laughed! we did not have a clue what we were doing and all you could hear was a man in his little hut shouting "LANE 3 Will you release your break!" he looked pretty horrified when he asked us to drive over the pit and I asked him out the window if anyone had ever drove down it! anyway we have to go back on Tuesday as one of our lights on the side was out and something to do with the breaks! although I am sure that is because Julian had is foot on the break and it in gear when he was not meant too! anyway he wants to see us back on Tuesday - I just think he likes us!
Wednesday - can't remember much about Wednesday although we were both on the yard!
Thursday - That's a bit of a blank too!
Friday - we worked in the morning and then went for Starbucks, then we went to meet our friend Gill Wise and all her young horses, It was really nice to see her as we have not seen her for ages and her foals that we saw last time are now both weaned from their mothers and looking really well.
Saturday - We worked and sunbathed all day, then just when we thought we had finished we had to go out and rescue Kate whose lorry had broken down on the M20 accross 2 lanes! So we picked her and her horses up then dropped them home to Ashford, we then finally got in about 9pm. Poor Mel was meant to fly off on her holidays today but as all the airports are shut she was unable to leave - at least we don't have to make our own tea and coffee in the mornings now!
Sunday - We sort of got the stables done, but then one of our liveries Jane who had taken Dougal out had also broken down in her lorry, so Julian and Sue went and rescued her, I was meant to finish off but ended up sunbathing instead! then we went for Starbucks again, then came back and finished off. Oh I also had a call from Henk who was begging me to go and pick Dessie up as she keeps jumping out over the stable door and he don't know what to do with her anymore, she was covered on Friday and then again today so hopefully this time she will take and keep hold of it! Oh and also Kate & Roo and Darren & Aramis had a jump in the school which was very funny, especially when Darren got on Roo and jumped him a 1.20 fence about 1.60! Darren was very grateful for the neck strap!
That is so not everything, but I really cant think of anything else, I know I have only started from Monday but it really would be too much for me to remember what happened the week before that, although we did have 2 more full liveries join our yard so we would like to welcome Roux and Shanie and their owners Lizzie & Shirley to our yard.
