Hi everyone hope you are OK and enjoying this never ending fantastic weather. On Friday we had Fanny the physio out to Bb&Bessie and thankfully there was not too much wrong with either of them. Bessie has a bit of tennis elbow which is easily treated but is quite sore in that area bless her and she has been going so well. Bb just had a bit of muscle spasm over her hind quarters where she still growing quite a bit. On Sunday at the yard it was just myself&Natasha working and seemed like we had been completely abandon the yard was like a ghost town with no one about to go and get us our daily star bucks so we had to get our own :(. Brad/Ryan and Jaime/Fred went to Maidstone&district horse show together with Brads dad acting as chauffeur and Kate went along as a high class groom? And it was obviously a great team effort as both horses went extremely well with Brad&Ryan coming 3rd in the elementary and Jaime&Fred coming 4th in the combine training well done to all of you. Kate&Roo had a lesson on Saturday and we stepped things up a level although you would never have known this has both horse&rider coped brill and showed just how far they have come on in the past few months. Dessie is looking very fat lets hope she not having twins again!!! Jamie&Sarah get back from Thailand today i hope they have had a safe trip home and welcome them back also i hope the horses are not too fresh when you get on them. We are still trying to re home two dogs Maisey the staff and Carlos the Mastiff if anyone knows someone who may be interested then please contact one of us. Hopefully we will be taking the babies out to a show this week not sure where yet but will let you know how they go. Take Care Julian.x |

Another good show for the girls! |

Wednesday, 30 June 2010 22:39 |
Yesterday we decided to go to norton heath in Essex with the 4yr old girls Bb,Bessie and Vita. We were all dressed in our summer clothing shorts and t.shirt etc so was quite worried when we left sunny Kent and ended up in pouring with rain Essex! Luckily it did not last very long lol. Both Bb and Bessie jumped the British Novice and jumped superb clear rounds and finished 3rd&5th and very pleased with themselves. We decided to try Vita in her 1st discovery and as always she did not disappoint and jumped a really good double clear and coped really well with moving up a level. Also in attendance at the show was Lizzie&Roux from KCS and they jumped the discovery clear and just had a very unlucky 4 faults in the jump off section but looked really good. We had a horrible journey home as the dreaded M25 was closed at j30 which i am sure you can understand how much trouble this caused luckily i had Tash to keep me company well until she fell asleep that is! We have a new horse now called Sam we will post some pictures on the web site soon. Brad and Jaime are off to Maidstone and District horse show on Sunday so i will let you know how they get on. And i am pleased our lovely weather is still with us at least we cant say we not had a summer this year if it keeps this up. Julian x |

Hi everyone i am not even going to begin to apologise for the time since our last news update lol! Well i don't know about everyone else but i for one am really enjoying this lovely weather it is not often we have this sort of weather here in England?. So everyone who is moaning please stop winter is only around the corner and i am sure you can still all remember last winter. On Sunday 20th June we was out competing with our babies again and they are going from strength to strength and are so consistent. Especailly Bessie who seems determined to jump amazing rounds all albeit with one fence down lol! Typical of her I'm sure she does this on purpose jut to prove she has the last word. Vita&Bb have jumped double clears at every show we have taken them to including Cobham on the 20th june when Vita was 2nd and Bb was 4th. Sarah also had Jaffa at this show and jumped amazing and have improved so much not that i approve though as they beat me and took 1st place in the British Novice it was such a lovely round to watch as well. Well done Sarah,Sue and Jaffa a real team effort. Also at this show was Lizzie with Roux who jumped really well especially the 1st round which was so much more controlled and Lizzie seem such more relaxed in her riding well done again! I see from Facebook that Ms Hawkins & Ms Vaghan went out for a hack on Sunday in the hot weather donning shorts and skimpy tops and i have to say whilst the builders next door are sure to appreicate this look, It does not really fit in with today's health and safety regulations shame on you!!!!!!!! Im happy to report that everyone has been picking up the droppings in the school alot more since my last whinge thank you can we please keep this up. Dessie bless her looks like she is about ot drop a foal any minute never mind next march! I think she is going to have to have a diet come the winter or her belly will be dragging along the floor a bit like mine. We are off to Norton Heath tomorrow so hopefully the girls will be good and keep up the consistent form and you never know Bessie may jump a clear round. We are hoping to stage another clear round day in July dates will follow shortly once i have sorted out my show schedule for this month. Jamie and Sarah are out in Thailand at the moment and by the sounds of it they are having a great time all right for some( jealous im not! much anyway). At least she cant beat me 2mo lol! Also i have to say Sue those shorts you were wearing today you know the very very short ones left little to the imagination maybe you should go hacking with Tash and Candy!!!! Also Bonnie i have not seen you on patrol by your tap much of late i hope you have not given up your post to someone else. We had a new arrival on Sunday although i cant remember the horses name lol!!! I was too busy enjoying a day off from horses stuffing my face all day. But she seems to have settled in really well. Anyway i will try and let you know how we get on at the show 2mo. Bye for now Julian. x |

Well we are really not very good at this are we, it did all start off good but neither of us are that organised, so I apologise, especially to my friend in Bermuda who reads this page daily and had to send me an email telling me to sort it out! But I will do what I can to remember the last weeks news.
Well firstly and most importantly it is little Coty's birthday today, 3 whole years have just flown by since he was that tiny little foal, although he is still tiny! As you may all well know, I very nearly lost him about 18 months ago as he got some unknown virus which made him very poorly and unable to walk, it got so bad that at 2pm the vet said I had to make the decision to put him down by 4pm as it was getting dark! all this was a week before Christmas 08, the vet said he would never make the weekend let alone Christmas day and if he did it would be a miracle! Well thank god I listened to my gut as my little miracle is still here healthier then ever - love him!
Anyway, the babies all went to Eaglesfield on Sunday for the Area 45 Show and my god was it spooky! there was more flower pots scattered around then I think are on display at the Chelsea Flower Show. They all came of the lorry fresh as it is only their second trip out, Julian decided to get on Bessie first and me and Candy held Vita and BB in the warm up, Vita was very well behaved but BB on the other hand was a lunatic! standing up showing everyone her belly, although she could just be showing off the amazing clip I gave her the day before, I must admit I am quite good at it although very slow, I think it took me 5 hours! Bessie went in the ring and jumped around lovely just have a very unlucky 4 faults, Vita then followed and went double clear, BB thank god had calmed down by this stage and went it the ring and I must admit I was thinking she could be the one to deposit him, but she went around beautifully and jumped double clear. The final result was BB 6th and Vita 7th, which is not bad considering there was about 40 in it. Sarah was also at the show with Jaffa and she did really well, also jumping two clear rounds, so Sarah has now decided Jaffa is going to become a show jumper and is giving up eventing. I would also like to thank Sue for taking lots of photos of the babies jumping, although most of them did include Julian's bum which was not so pretty but the ones from the front view were very good. We also took Roux, Lizzie's horse as she was unable to compete herself as she had exams, she jumped really well and was really unlucky just having a fence in each of the jump offs.
This week on the yard we have been tiding up the place, which has included strimming the huge jungle that was growing outside the office! it took a few hours but Andy managed to get on top of it and now it looks so much better. Hopefully by the end of the week we will have all the grass cut and weeds strimmed as with all this rain we have had it has just gone growing crazy!
Today after finally leaving the hairdressers, Julian arrived on the yard just after lunch, all I can say is you will see him in the dark about 10 miles away, so if you are wondering what that big white beaming head is in the distance, I will tell you now it is Julian back to being Blonde (Aka Albino) we then hacked the 4 babies and all of them behaved well, although Bessie with me aboard was a bit naughty putting in a few bucks here and there (I think she was just in need of a pair of singlasses being behind Julian)
We are off to Cobham on Sunday with the babies again, so will be jumping them tomorrow in the school, we seem to be on a winning role so hopefully this will continue.
Anyway until next time - Tasha x |

Well it is my turn, (hope you will find the grammar a bit better, although I am now back blonde so you probably wont! ha ha).
I am very pleased to say that Team Kits Coty is on winning form, Sue took Buster out on Sunday to dressage and came 3rd which she was extremely happy about, Brad also went Dressage on Sunday and won his first class with 69.98% and was 2nd in his second class with 68.49%. Jamie went out showjumping with Willow last weekend and came 2nd and qualified for the Scope showjumping championships which I think he was more happy with the fact that he will be partying all week rather then jumping! So Congratulations to all of you - we are very proud you are flying the flag for Team Kits Coty!
We have had lovely weather and all the liveries have been making the most of it, although I must admit it has been a bit hot on occasions! especially when you are riding but I know I should not complain as it will probably not last that long and we will soon be back in winter!
Kaci had her first canter at the grand old age of 2 on Mr T with Julian the other day which she loved, although I think I should start to worry a bit as he said she will be jumping next week!
The babies are all going really well, we took them to Cobham last weekend and BB and Vita won their classes and Bessie just had 4 faults, although they were all a bit wild we were extremely proud of them all. We are planning on taking them to Eaglesfield on Sunday so hopefully they will continue on their winning form.
I jumped little Bambi yesterday in the rain, the first couple of jumps were a bit scary as she jumped a small cross pole about 5ft in the air! but I think she is just proving that she is not one to be forgotten about and she can indeed jump just as well as the other 3, she may be little but she certainly makes up for her size with her heart, she is so genuine and certainly looks after her mum, although I think Julian is starting to get itchy feet now and will probably steel my ride soon and then I will be just left with Coty who has not been backed yet and by looking at him bucking in the field he may just stay that way for a while!
I am also so pleased to report that our good friend Darren is on the mend after a very bad infection is his leg that then lead to MRSA and him being in intensive care, we were all certainly worried last week when it looked really bad, but Darren is a fighter and I knew in my heart that he was not going to leave us, although it has certainly been a wake up call to me to live life to the fall as it can be taken at anytime. We wish him a speedy and full recovery and send him and his partner Lee (Aka his guardian angel) all the love in the world and can't wait for him to come back!
Tasha xxxx

So sorry for the delay but all been enjoying the glorious British weather long may it stay. Although the last few days Tasha hasnt stopped moaning about it i dont know she moans all through winter now we got the same through the summer to come no pleasing some people. We had brilliant news last Thursday when Dessie had her 30 day scan and all is well with the baby and we could even see its heart beating! Also Sabre her new friend and stable companion is doing well and looking a very content mum to be. Prisca is also away at stud so hopefully next year we will have 3 lovely foals around us wasting our time. All of the KCS residents seem to be enjoying the weather it is lovely to not have hundreds of rugs all about the place. Jamie and Willow went out on Sunday to limes farm and she jumped really well but unfortunately tripped up and had no choice but to hit the fence but alot of horses would have stopped. Jaime and Fred also went last week X/C schooling and although he was not keen on the ditches Jaime came back beaming and really delighted with the way Fred went and said she really enjoyed it. Kate had a lesson on Roo on Saturday and is becoming quite the proffesional and only made one mistake i think they more then ready for a show now. Lizzie also riday had a lesson on Friday although we mainly did grid work it went really good. We decided that 3 of the young 4 yr old horses were ready for a show and we took them to along to cobham manor on Sunday for their 1st show which was bsja. First up was Bb who did the clear-round 1st and jumped straight round with no probs although a little strong her behaviour was impeccable, we then decided to put in a class which she duly won with the only double clear(not bad going 1st 1st time out). Next up was Bessie who was alot more excited then her sister was at been at her 1st event we made the mistake of taking her off the lorry to get her ready( big mistake) lol! She stood there with her tail up in the air snorting we managed to boot her up and put her saddle on without much of a problem but the bridle was a little more stressful? We decided to put her in a stable but she had her head up so high she kept hitting her head on the top of the door frame. Eventually with me, Tasha and Anne all hanging onto her we eventually got her bridle on and me in the saddle although Tash did get her foot stood on. Onceon she was very excited and displayed this quite well in the warm up but it was harmless high jinks. She jumped amazing once we got over the 1st fence which she stopped at the first attempt but i think it just surprised her. Next was Vita who was an angel from start to finish she is a completely different horse away from home and we never have any of the misdemeanor's we have when she is ridden at home. I think any one who looks at the pictures of her will all agree this one shows huge talent and potential to become a top show-jumper. If only horses had her natural jumping technique life would be so much easier. Vita also jumped the only double clear and won the British novice bless her. Lizzie also went to Cobham with Roux and although she got there too late for the intended British novice they competed in the 1metre instead. Roux was a little fresh and strong in the 1st round but still jumped clear but by the jump off she had settled down really well and jumped a much better clear round. Lizzie did a very nice job and it is all looking so much better with much more needed control. We lunged Archie for Mel on Monday in the pessoa and i think it fair to say he would much prefer if i was not to do it again he came in very sweaty so had to have a bath. We also lunged Nissian in the pessoa who was also a very good boy and also benefited from having a bath. Anyway im off to watch Eastenders now with my compulsory large bar of chocolate goodnight over and out. Julian x |

Hello strangers once again sorry for the short supply on the news feed. Today two different people said to me how they hate Mondays back at work after a weekend off! Well it got me thinking i never notice Mondays but then we horsey people dont really have weekends to lie in and sit and stuff our faces on a Sunday. Sometimes it sounds like a nice idea although i did try it once and got bored quite soon. The yard was as always busy today for us all as Mondays are our catch up day after the weekend so lots of chores like doing field waters etc were on the agenda. Jamie and Willow went to Towerlands on Sunday and although Wills went a little green she was very well behaved and just lacking a bit of ring experience although Jamie is now planning on doing alot more with her so good luck Jamie. Also on Sun Bradley and Ryan went out eventing to Chilham i gather the dressage was not at its best but Bradley was very happy with the way Ryan went especially round the X/C which he was fantastic in and jumped clear. We are holding our Dressage clinic with Gill Wise on the 6th june at KCS which should be fun and educational for both horse&rider we will let you know how this goes. Also we are planning on holding another jumping clinic in June details to follow soon. Today we worked the competition horses who were all very good especailly little Bambi who Tash rode she is just so simple and easy it is untrue( lets hope she stays this way!). We are planning on taking BB, Bessie and Vita to a show on Sunday which should be interesting we will let you know how they go or not which ever may be the case. I find it very exciting taking them out for there 1st few shows and not knowing how they will go. Dessie has her scan on Thursday so fingers x everyone please we really could do without another trip to the stallion. We welcomed a new arrival on Saturday a lovely chestnut mare called Sabre who is a ex racehorse and is now in foal to another race horse so in the distant future we may be going to the races best i buy me a hat lol! She as settled in really well and you would think she has been living at KCS for alot longer then a couple of days and as become very good friends with Dessie. Prisca goes off to stud tomorrow so we wish her good luck god can you imagine how pretty all things been well that baby foal is going to be roll on 2011. Well i think that is all for now oh except to announce that Tia as decided against show jumping and now wants to become a dressage rider at least i will have someone to do my flatwork! She made a start today and very bravely rode Bambi one of our 4yr olds not bad for a 7yr old girl with limited experience who used to have no bottle she is actually getting a real good little jockey. Well done Tia although i think Mr T was very jealous so you should ride him 2mo :). Bye for now. Julian x |

Dessie scanned in foal now anxious time till next scan!! |

|
We had Dessie scanned yesterday, this was her 1st scan - 16 days from her covering by a very tall dark handsome gentleman! The scan showed that she has a baby inside, but we can't get too excited yet as Des loves her new husband very much and loves to go and visit him for a bit of you know what?! She did manage to conceive once already and scanned positive but unfortunately on the second scan at 30 days she had absorbed, so everyone is going to be on tender hooks till the next scan (fingers x everyone pls). Nissan, BB and Dessie all had they flu jabs as well whilst the vet was out. Thursday was a quite and relaxed day on the yard, BB, Bessie and Vita all had a day off after going so well on Weds and had the whole day in the field which they seemed very happy with. Tash rode Bambi who was a little star again, if only all 4 yr olds came out with such a natural well balanced canter. I love doing the breaking and producing of the babies it gives me a huge amount of pleasure especially when you see them at top international shows going brill. The only part i find hard is trying to get the canter right, on some horses like BB who has such a long stride that naturally runs away with her it can be very hard work and although she is now cantering really good and has learnt to step back on her hind leg its has been a tough job! Then you get ones like Bambi and Vita who just canter so right straight away and i love this type of horse, it just makes the whole process so much easier. We also gave Bambi a small jump and she has the most natural back end and really follows through so fingers x we may have another useful young one. It has to be said that i find it hard to believe that we are going to be lucky enough that all 4 of our babies turn out so well, especially considering we hand picked them at 6 months old in Holland. I guess time will tellbut it is very rewarding at this stage. Darren worked Nissan, Aramis and Roux on Weds and i gave him a hand with them all, Nissan is going really well and so far so good as he has had none of his moments! It has taken a very long time to get this horse right for is owners Amy & Alison who's patience and kindness is now paying off. He is going like a different horse and seems to have forgotten all of his previous problems, i think turning him away was the best thing for him. I use the term kindness as alot of people including myself would have given up on him and sold him on but I'm guessing Amy's love for him is unconditional! Well done to you both. Aramis is really enjoying is jumping sessions and looks really well and jumps very good. Anyway guys till next time it is time for me to go and get my mop done i keep thinking I'm going to go back to blond as i assure you, they definitely have more fun! i have not been chatted up once since going dark :( either that or maybe my Botox needs a top up! It definitely can't be that i am passed it! Can it??? Help there's a scary thought OMG now i am back in the black mood watch out KCS.
Bye for now Julian x |

It all started so well!!!!!!!!!! |

Well i have taken it upon myself to write something, as it seems as usual Ms Hawkins no longer can be bothered to do this, facebook is far more interesting!!! It has been so long since our last news update, so i will try and not do a marathon write up and just report recent activities on the yard. I am soon to be banished from the yard, I have been in a serious bad mood now for days hopefully it will pass soon? Not sure why, Isuppose it could be due to a number of things ie; the disappearance of the sunshine, the fact that my father is really very poorly and although we have not shared the closest of father son relationships, he is my dad who I love very much. Also Ms Vita decided to deposit me last week and badly dislocatemy finger and stand on my ankle! although this is extremely sore, especially when riding, Iam quite proud of my bruises! I gather, although Iwas not present, Sarah, Jamie, Sue, Tia, Kaci and Natasha all had alot of fun riding in the school last night. Tia is now off shopping to buy a load (and trust me it will be a load) of new show gear so she is ready for her debut dressage show on Buster!(Sue you have alot to answer for). Thank god she has grand parents to take her shopping! maybe we should warn them that they will need a credit card this weekend lol! Natasha has claimed Bambi since she returned from Parklands but I am not worried as Ihave started to feed her up so she will soon be mine. Tash has some really nice pictures of her jumping her first filler under saddle which are lovely, I must confess she is alot better then I thought she would be. It is a compliment to everyone who does the horses at KCS that we can turn a little runt into such a lovely horse, we will soon learn hopefully how to download photos so we can show you all.
On tuesday I gave Lizzie a lesson on Roux and I have to say the improvement in such a short amount of time is amazing and very rewarding for both myself and Lizzie. Well done Lizzie! Poor Bambi got a kick from a horse and although Isaid she did not need the vet, Tash got the vet out anyway to look and I am pleased to report everything is ok and no problems - Ithink we must be one of Bells best customers? Kate/Roo and Mel/Archie had a lesson last Sat which went really well and both people and horses seemed to be smiling from ear to ear by the end of it. We have had problems keeping Kate in the saddle with Roo's extravagant jump, but I decided it was her saddle! so we tried a different one and the difference it made was brill and Kate looked like a different jockey! I know they say you should never blame your tools but in this case the tools were definitely faulty. It took a bit of persussion to get Mel on board but once on it went really great, and even with protests coming from Mel when i got a little carried away with the height of the jump, it was not a problem as both sailed over the fence with plenty of room to spare. Mel is now very proud of herself and so she should be, sometimes you just need someone - anyone really to install a little bit of self belief in themselves. Today we jumped the 4yr olds who are all so different but are all showing plenty of ability at this early stage and I think are almost ready for a show. Vita was so much better and is so careful and we had no nonsense and she looked after her old daddy well. Bessie i have to say is great, I enjoy riding her the most although she is far from easy which probably says more about me then her. But she gives you a really good feeling off the ground and is so brave. BBjumped most likely the best yet so far and finished up jumping a decent size oxer and showed she definitely is not lacking in the scope department. It is very exciting having 4 very good young horses although part of my bad mood may be due to the fact that all my mates are busy competing and I'm not :( its strange even at this grand old age I am as keen today as I ever was. Anyway I now feel like I have done the marathon so going to finish, Dessie scan 2mo so fingers x everyone will update any good news (hopefully). Bye for now. Julian. |
